I know from a friend that Skyrim looks really realistic.
As I know, you can use mods to increase the fun of playing.

Skyrim is a great game as mentioned by JoNny. Just to start, a few others that are known for their great graphics engine and unique gameplay would be some games like Crysis (1,2,3), the Far Cry series (especially FC3), Borderlands isnt so much realistic but has a very fun and attractive gameplay and is unique compared to most others FPS games. BioShock is also known for it's great graphics and enjoyable gameplay. And although I have not played the Battlefield series all that much, I have heard only great things from friends here who tried the Battlefield 4 demo that was out for testing (or maybe still is) a couple of weeks back. I heard the game loads very quickly and the gameplay and graphics are very impressive and the game is probably going to be very popular upon it's release date this week. I have tried each of them except the Battlefield 4 beta that was out recently.

Some quick SS links to the games above:

(Original game, there are also many mods that can be added with countless hours of additional gameplay and adventures/new objectives etc.)

Hope that may help if you have not heard of a few of these games which were always highly rated and a top choice for most gamers to enjoy. I only had a minute to make this but after work or when I have some time off I may have some more updates if you would like

Totally agree with you, Metro: Last Night (Don't like the game really much but it still got really good graphics). The Witcher 3(In BETA) & Arma 3 also got good graphics and is fun to play
