Sure ET was made to play with P3 but you need to understand, with P3 you only get low FPS. IIRC, ET is more of a CPU based game rather then GPU.

A basic hardware C2D, DDR2, SATA HD and good internet should be playable enough.

Now a days people expect 300 FPS, saying game was made for P3 so I should get 300 FPS on C2D. No you don't. You need to recode whole game to fully support multi threading and then move the rendering part to completely GPU based.

PB is all about memory. With P3 I assume people are using DDR and hence the lag. Sure, PB adds overhead but is there any other option to it?

Server popularity as nothing to do with cheaters. Cheaters always target non PB servers and non PBBans streaming server. Might want to turn on PB and PBBans streaming for few weeks and you will notice what I mean to say.

If someone is having issues with PB, send a ticket to EB. I heard lately they are actively providing updates to fix the updates mentioned in the ticket. Well I never used to get reply before in my tickets, but lately I got 4 replies within 2 days in my 3 tickets.
