losing etkey!!

Hi all,

I have an issue with losing my etkey when I connect to a server through et starterpro or xfire. If I connect thru et.exe there is no problem?????

I hav reinstalled et.exe and starter pro many times..still I lose my et key if I connect any way oter than et.exe.


Is there something I'm doing wrong when i install et and patch to 2.60b???

any help is appreciated as always..

where is your old etkey?

Make sure your not checking the box of "Delete etkey file"

xfire does this.

Right click on your etkey and select properties, and check the option that says "Read Only". Then it wont be overwritten by xfire.

hahaa yep setting as read only works....noob mistake..had tried that in filezilla but couldnt and forgot to try the normal way...btw delete etkey file was not ticked.
