I Created a new Version of Fueldump Desert, since its Popular, yet littered with Bugs, So here is an Improved Version


Fixed Missing Sound Script (Dynamite Planted/Tank Repaired Announcer Sounds)
Improved Terrain
Fixed Black Mountain Top
Better sky
More Spawn Points
Better Protection against Trickjumping.

Maybe you could also improve map called Saberpeak?


Agree, lagfree Saberpeak with stable FPS would be great ;)
Could this be the beginning of a new 'StablePeak' ? :D :

Can you also fix FPS issue? In one of your screenshot you are getting 117 FPS and in another 66 FPS.

If you can fix saberpeak it would be great!! It's nice map but suffers terrible FPS drop with 30+ players and spawn points are not good at all!

The problem with saberpeak is that it's a wide open area with almost no visblock. The only way to change it, is to make major structural modifications and I'm not sure if people like change all that much.

But anyways, you could give it a try :)

Both of those Screenshot where taken from Different ET Installations with Different Settings, FPS is not Effected in any Way
The Problem is, ET is not Very Well Designed for large Open Maps, and thus I Can't Do anything about it, Specially when i don't have the Map Source.

I Dont Even Have the Source for Fueldump Desert, but, I Fixed it by Rewriting the Terrain Shader (which was poorly Written), and manually Editing the Light maps in GIMP to Fix the Black Mountain Tops and also added the Missing Sound Script

Got ya @fueldump desert. But that Saberpeak does have some serious lag issues.. if you check it may be you can know what's the issue? i am dumbo in mapping so i have no clue in that area...

I have Tried the Map, I get Constant 90+ FPS, There is nothing wrong Saberpeak, maybe your PC is too slow

Did you test it alone or on a populated server ?

I myself have a good computer to run ET, he's hanging on very strong on the wide open areas - but you can feel its pain :D
On my old computer, it's terrible

Try to get constant 125 FPS on server with 40+ players :)

C2D 3.0Ghz processor and ATI 5870. I stick to 11.4 drivers because it has descent openGL. Tried 11.7 or 8 the latest one and it was fail.

All other maps I get stable 125 FPS. With 30+ players on we all get less then 60 FPS. Map lags badly like 2Tanks map with 30+ players on and first spawn point of allies is horrible with only one way out.
