My ET hangs after 5 minutes (can not play longer than 5 minutes), then the picture is frozen and my pc shuts down.
I have updated the punkbuster and does not know what it could be. I ask for help. thank you

Hello used to get that problem moment ago each time i started my ET, it crashed.
And it still happening now .. PB stuff has nothing to do with it.

I remember i used to reinstall my XP (format)and problem was solved. Scan virus and stuff are useless its not gonna fix anything.
Well thats how i did , now maybe someone has a better solution :)

if pc shuts down my guess its a hardware problem. could be overheated cpu or something that makes it shut down.

hmm Try to touch the motherboard thing , to see if its heat , if you cant let your hand on it then something wrong with motherboard.

Maybe someone will give you the solution , hope so

in your bios u should see a setting to shut down when overheated.. just for u to find out whats causing it :)

this sounds like my problem some days ago. same things happen like here.

My Problem was that a sata cable was stucked in the fan of the grapiccard.

Maybe clean all fans, remove the grapicard and install it again.

or maybe put some new thermalcompound to the cpus.

Not really man -.-
I can play sometimes 5 mins and other time 2-3 maps but anytimes it doesnt work anymore and i must restart my computer :(

Honestly, SpeedFan is totally shit program. I would recommend EVEREST.

Make a CPU stress test with Orthos, called "Small FFTs - stress CPU" on priority 9. I prefer 1-2h test to check if your PC crash or something :). You can also run some program in the background to see what temps you have during test.

I had the same with my laptop. Laptop runs smooth for years and suddenly i had the same problem like you.
I have always had max performance on my laptop. (min 100%/ max 100%) Now i switched back to 80% max and suddenly my problem was gone.
You could give it a try.

Your config isnt really important , you can run ET wihtout any problem .
what are you using windows xp pro or win 7 ?

Someone already asked , but did you test with other games to see if you still have that problem ?

Once your pc shut down , open it ( cut power in case) and with your hand touch motherboard radiator , or graphcard / or processor to see what is anormally heat

I played today cod mw 2 and no problems!
I play et and after 20 min pc crashed like my first post -.-
No bluescreen only the picture ingame frozen and the the computer shuts down.
What can i do?? :(
