View Full Version : Bug on silent servers vs tb

http://et.trackbase.net/index.php?mod=sessioninfo&idx=42737389
I was testing for the first time that Silent-mod-gun: pssh.
That gun is way to strong. It's a overpowered et gun.
Not so much spread. 40 bullets in a round. Shoots like it is an smg.
Anyway if you go to that link you see that trackbase recorded 52 kill, which is actually 100% correct.
But I did approximate 2hs/kill.
you would think I would get high tsp. Obviously it wasn't.
So I went to look to guys who own the shit out of me with that gun, and they all receive low ppm-tsp.
Am I correct to say that, that gun isn't a part of tsp's calculation?
I know I'm correct. Would have gotten myself some + again.
Anyway: can you guys fix it? Or would it mess up all tsp-calculation methods?
Regards,
Glenn
btw: I can drop the demo, to let you see that would have gotten myself plenty of ppm (for tsp).
Edit: or isn't it maybe registered as a light weapon?
For what I've seen, only headshots from light weapons are a part from the tsp formula.
That gun resembles the sten2 a lot, you know the one without overheating.
I don't play silent often, almost never used that gun. But I thought it was only
powerful close range and not that good far range. I can be mistaken though.
And because the gun is so powerful, it could be that the TSP calculations is different
from the one for the mp-40/thompson. Again only guessing here :p. But I thought the
sten had a different calculation too, because it is easier to get hs with it.
ps.: the way I rate, 52 kills in 15 min at supply ain't a lot reserve for +27 TSP :p
But yea I think with a mp-40 depending on your accuracy and damage given you
should have gotten like + .02-.03 TSP
ive disabled it from my server, didnt like it at all, totally unnecessary weapon if im being asked :/

If you look in the silent.cfg you will see that the damage assigned to this weapon is only 19 points by default. The thompson and mp40 are 18 as usual. So I would respectfully disagree that it is overpowered.
However some admins use this as a fun weapon and increase the damage, so you may have been on a modified server.

thats correct, servers using such a weapon arent surely about a skill of players, probably sum kind of fun servers, so they maybe also increased damage of that weapon like FBY guy said, so, cuz at the 1st time, while I had it enabled on my server, until ive figured out how to delete :D, it wasnt been overpowered by default.
It is overpowered because:.
1) more damage, even if it's 1
2) It's more accurate. Sure you can bring me the config stats of it?
= it has less bullet spread. Put wallmark 'long' on, shoot against a wall from 10 metres. And compare it with usual smg.
but by Playing with I know it's sten-like accuracy. But sten is even more accurate.
3) 40 bullets in 1 round.
ps: I like that gun. Not that I want to see it removed! that wasn't my intention. It's just the best gun in whole et.
But this wasn't what this topic is about.
That gun is bugged for tsp.
Or it isn't bugged. Therefore it doesn't belong in the category smg, where headshots do count for your tsp.
Any tb'er can respond on this?
Srry guys for the late response, am quite busy at the moment.
So momentarily there are 2 systems working :
1) the one with TSP connecting every few minutes
2) the one where the server sends data to us
In the first system all the weapons that are different from the ones in standard ET are counted as a heavy weapon, so no headshots are considered.
The second system does count the weapons as a light weapon with headshots and so forth.
I hope that made it clear :)
When I'm back both systems will be merged and perhaps special rules will be applied for the different weapons, that isn't decided yet.
Indd, that explained the low tsp-ppms.
Jo.
Another bug?
Or am I just not used anymore to old system servers?

When I actually rate, I hate it to lose that much just because it isn't recorded well.
Question: Is it a silent bug?
Or just the 'old' way of tracking people gained tsp-ppm, that obviously isn't that accurate?
Nope not a bug, the tracker failed to connect after the time you reached 31/6.
You could see it as a flaw that at the moment there is not yet a system that takes into account the possibility of the tracker not being able to connect anymore and as such you lose for example the last 5 minutes of a map.
I'll add that to my list of todos.
I've been playing mostly on the new way of tracking servers.
Those are obviously much better if you care about TB.
The info sent there is accurate, compared with this one.
I'll just have to keep an eye on 'TBS connecting...'.
Ty for answering that fast, gir.
Had this too xd, only I lost 0.30 TSP, consider yourself lucky ;)
Doesn't happen that often though, so don't worry to much about it.
