However you might not like the answer, with those specs I would just spare up for a new PC and go for DDR3/quad. It doesn't make sense to upgrade your ram now (DDR2 is getting really outdated) so :)

Doesn't matter :)

Trash your PC rather then upgrading it. My golden advice. Get Ivy Bridge based good CPU, RAM, GPU and Mobo to play BF3 and new games.

BF2 is old game... old game is old..

Get a new pc, you can't upgrade so much anymore for sure, therefore it's the best idea to just buy a new one,
Processor: ~ 4x 3gh
Graphics card: ~ 1gb
RAM: ~4gb/8gb

I just can say, if you got these 3 to a really good standard, you can play games with an awesome graphic & nice proceeding;)
GL with your computer:)

nei, processor is good, you'll never use all 4 cores so the used CPU power will be between the 2,7-3,2ghz depending on the application you are running.

Gaming on laptop = More heat resulting in less laptop life.

Gaming on desktop = Not much heat issue if you use good heat sink and fans in cabinet... and rock solid FPS.
